Flats Fishing at Hotel Guanaja
Just as Guanaja is surrounded by the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, so does the reef perpetuate and protect shallows and flats; the reef, depths just beyond the reef and the shallows together comprise the breeding areas and feeding areas for permit, bonefish and tarpon lifecycles.
While pursuing the permit, the large schools of bonefish can be encountered while wading the flats or by skiff.
Hotel Guanaja's pangas or Robalo can run to the various fresh water outlets around Guanaja to seek tarpon or snook.
Shimano Sahara FD Spinning Reels and shimano rods are available for use at Hotel Guanaja.
